Enterprise Fair 2026

Thank you to everyone who made the Enterprise Fair 2026 such a beautiful experience. The incredible entrepreneurs who shared their creativity and enterprise, our two speakers, Howie Firth and Jo Hunt, the organisers and everyone from the region who came to celebrate our unique and innovative region. Together we make it happen.

Our two keynote speakers shared fascinating insights on their topic: From Polycrisis to Local Food Production: Building Community Wealth and Resilience from the Ground Up. Find videos of their addresses below.

Thank you also to Mark Richards, Aurora Imaging, whose images capture this brilliant day.

Jo Hunt is a consultant economist turned crofter who runs Knockfarrel Produce, an organic certified regenerative croft near Dingwall, growing 81 varieties of fruit and vegetables while helping build resilient, low-carbon local food systems. With over 20 years of experience in agricultural business and policy, Jo works with farmers and co-operatives in Scotland and beyond to create a fairer, more sustainable future.

Howie Firth is a science communicator, author, and community development advocate based in Elgin. With a background in mathematical physics, he directed the Orkney International Science Festival for many years and has spent decades supporting community-led initiatives, local democracy, and sustainable development across Orkney. Through his work, he champions systems thinking and community-based solutions to help build resilient local food systems and thriving communities in the face of today’s global challenges.
