We’re delighted to have Ariane Burgess, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Highlands and Islands, and Co-Convener of the Social Enterprise Cross-Party Group, as our Enterprise Fair 2025 keynote speaker.
Ariane Burgess MSP represents the Highlands and Islands for the Scottish Green Party. With a background in regenerative design and community planning, she supports communities in becoming resilient, inclusive places that thrive socially, economically, and environmentally.
Ariane champions community control over local land and resources, affordable housing, and urgent action on the climate and nature crises. She identifies the barriers that hold communities back and works to remove them through progressive policy change.
Her approach connects the dots between housing, transport, the economy and the environment, ensuring long-lasting, joined-up solutions. Ariane serves as Convener of the Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee, helping shape Scotland’s future through collaborative and practical policymaking. She is also Co-Convener of the Cross-Party Group on Social Enterprise, promoting community-led businesses that deliver social and environmental benefits. Her work is rooted in fairness, protecting the environment for future generations, and empowering people to shape their own futures.
